Manual therapy

What is manual therapy?

Manual therapy treatments were developed for healing musculoskeletal diseases without surgery or medical therapy. Manual medicine as a treatment deals with reversible dysfunctions of the musculoskeletal system, using manual techniques for the diagnosis and treatment of lesions of the spine and peripheral joints. It aims to restore joint function, muscle function, and peripheral nerve mobility.

How is the treatment done?

The patient lies on a special bed and the therapist uses his/her hand for treatment. The recommended amount of treatments is determined by the doctor or chiropractor based on the patient’s condition.

It consists of two parts: manual diagnostics and manual therapy. After a manual examination of the spine and limbs, mapping the condition of joints, muscles and nerves, the therapist restores proper mobility and movement dynamics with the help of special techniques.

Areas of application:

  • back pain, hip pain, lower back pain
  • elbow pain, limb pain
  • neck pain, shoulder pain
  • disability of muscular origin
  • initial spinal hernia, discus hernia
  • headache of musculoskeletal origin

The use of manual therapy is contraindicated among others in patients with tumors, traumatic abnormalities, inflammatory processes, osteoporosis, hemophilia, cerebrovascular disease.
