Urology

What does urology deal with?

Urology specializes in the treatment of diseases of the kidneys, the urinary tract (ureters, bladder, urethra), and male genitalia (penis, testicles, epididymis, seminal vesicle, prostate). I deals with both congenital and acquired disorders.

What diseases or complaints are covered?

Disorders of urination or continence (frequent urination, difficulty urinating, pain when urinating, stuttering urine, weakened urine, bloody urine, urinary urge stimuli, involuntary loss of urine, dripping urine). Disorders affecting the testicles (varicose veins, pain, palpable lump), penile problems (phimosis), erectile dysfunction, inflammatory disorders of the urinary tract (inflammation of the prostate or the bladder), kidney stones, cancerous urological diseases.

What happens in a personal consultation?

The urologist of Emineo Private Hospital interviews the patient in detail about their complaints and medical history, reviews the findings, and learns about urination and habits and continence.  Patients are then examined. If necessary, other tests (e.g., laboratory, ultrasound, cystoscopy, etc.) may be ordered. Diagnostics may also include screening for malignancies, and screening is recommended over the age of 50 (if there was prostate cancer in the family, then it is recommended earlier, from the age of 40-45).

Possible therapies

Depending on the severity of the complaints, our specialist will recommend conservative treatment (medication in addition to life counseling) or, if necessary, a surgical solution.

Introduction of video consultation

Even in the epidemiological situation related to the coronavirus, we endeavor to resolve the complaints of our patients and reduce their pain. To this end, we have launched our video consultation service, in which our specialists are at our patients’ service on-line.
