Pediatric orthopedics
The most important question in the pediatric orthopedic clinic is whether the examined child has any illness, disorder, or whether the seen posture, gait, movement falls within the normal range. Many parents worry that their baby or younger or older child, may have a problem because their muscle tone, foot position, or hip movements, for example, are not exactly the same as those of other children they see. Fortunately, anxiety often proves to be exaggerated, as every person is different, and it applies to children as well. However, it should be noticed when there is a real problem behind the symptoms seen, as the earlier we detect the problem, the greater the chance it can be corrected. This is especially true for babies.
What happens in a personal consultation?
Ideally performed at the age of 4-6 weeks, hip screening, which, in addition to the examination of the hip, also includes the examination of the skull, head and neck movements, hands and feet, helps us detect abnormalities at the beginning of life that can often be completely healed within a few weeks or months in tiny babies, while if they remain hidden, they can even cause lifelong complaints. At Emineo Private Hospital, ultrasound scan is performed in all cases during hip screening, because manual examination and radiological scan complement each other and together give the most reliable results.
Introduction of video consultation
Even in the epidemiological situation related to the coronavirus, we endeavor to resolve the complaints of our patients and reduce their pain. To this end, we have launched our video consultation service, in which our specialists are at our patients’ service on-line.
